Rolling bearing type selection
Which factors do the rolling bearings choose for their specific type? The bearing network will be introduced in three aspects.
First, according to the size, direction and nature of the bearing bearing load
1. When the load is small and stable, roller bearings should be used.
2. When the bearing is only subjected to radial load, the radial ball bearing or the radial short cylindrical roller bearing can be selected; when the bearing only bears the axial load, the thrust ball bearing can be selected.
3. When the bearing is subjected to both axial and radial loads, it should be considered based on the relative values of axial load A and radial load R.
a When the A is much smaller than R, a radial ball bearing can be used.
b When A < R, use a radial thrust ball bearing or a tapered roller bearing.
c When A>R, a radial thrust ball bearing with a large contact angle and a tapered roller bearing with a large taper angle are available.
d When A is much larger than R, the thrust bearing and the radial bearing can be combined to withstand axial and radial loads, respectively.
Second, according to the speed of the bearing
1. When the size and precision are the same, the limit of the ball bearing is higher than that of the roller bearing, so the ball bearing is easy to be used on the shaft with higher rotation speed.
2. For high-speed shafts with large axial loads, it is best to use radial thrust ball bearings instead of thrust ball bearings. When the rotational speed is high, the centrifugal force of the rolling elements is large, which deteriorates the working conditions of the bearing.
Third, the special requirements for bearings
Needle bearings are used if the radial dimension of the part is limited and the radial load is large.
Fourth, economic
Bearings of common construction are cheaper than bearings of special construction; ball bearings are cheaper than cylindrical or tapered roller bearings; spherical roller bearings are the most expensive. As long as the basic requirements are met, try to use spherical bearings. When selecting the accuracy level of the bearing, generally use the normal level as much as possible.
